COURSE DESCRIPTION

A course designed to further the student’s understanding of hermeneutical principles and develop skills in interpreting Scripture.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon the successful completion of this course the student should be able to:
- Appropriately follow basic steps of exegetical procedure.
- Appropriately apply fundamental principles of biblical hermeneutics.
- Recognize the main literary genres found in the Bible and understand how the distinctive features of each genre affect interpretation.
- Appropriately apply Scripture passages in modern ministry contexts.
