COURSE DESCRIPTION
課程簡介
Introduction to Preaching (3 hours) covers planning, preparation and presentation skills in preaching and teaching with an emphasis on learning by doing. Also covers learning styles, how to preach and teach for transformation, and how to communicate to different age groups and cultures.
講道事工涵蓋預備講章和講道技巧,強調從實踐中學習。也包括了解聽眾的學習方式、如何表達信息和為改變生命而作宣講,以及如何與不同的年齡和文化不同的人分享信息內容。
COURSE OBJECTIVES
課程目的
Upon the successful completion of this course, the student should:
- Be more skilled in the careful interpretation of the Scriptures.
- Be able to construct sermons that are biblical, clear, interesting and life changing.
- Be more skillful in communicating the Gospel to this generation.
- Be knowledgeable of different styles of preaching and teaching appropriate to different ministry settings.
成功修畢本課程後,學員應:
1. 更善於謹慎地講解聖經。
2. 能夠建立合乎聖經的、清晰的、有趣的、能改變人生命的講道。
3. 更善於傳福音給這世代。

GRADING
評分
Attendance and participation (10 %)
A preaching class requires both speakers and listeners. So it is vital to attend each class. If a student must be absent, he or she must get class notes from another student. One absence may be excused and will affect the final grade, deducting 10%. More than one absence will result in failing the course.
Reading assignments and quizzes (30%)
There will be ten reading quizzes from the textbook. The student is encouraged to raise questions about the material which is raised so that preaching issues may be discussed.
Preaching (60%)
The first sermon will be 5 minutes of a style and format of instructor’s directive.
The second sermon will be 10 minutes and will be a topical sermon.
The third sermon will be 25 minutes and will be an expository sermon.
The sermons will be graded by these factors:
Content – clear, well organized, true to the text, illustrative material and contemporary.
Delivery – desire, conviction, improvement, and connection with the audience.

講道課需要演講者和聽眾。所以參加每一節課都很重要。如果一個學生必須缺席,他或她必須從另一個學生那裡得到課堂筆記。缺席一次將影響期末成績,扣減10%。超過一次缺課將導致課程不及格。

This course will span 3 weeks. Students set aside 12 hours for themselves each week to watch recorded lectures and participate in online exercises. There will be weekly open-book quizzes as well as open-book midterm and final examinations. There will be 3 hours of Zoom meetings per week.
