COURSE DESCRIPTION
課程簡介
A course dealing with the background, administration, and dynamics of effective small groups. It will focus on how small groups have been used in evangelism and discipleship, along with expanding the reach of the local church. Students will be exposed to planning, implementing, administering, and multiplying small groups within a ministry.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon the successful completion of this course, students should:
1. Know and understand the value of small group ministry.
2. Understand the value of small groups for taking the gospel to all peoples.
3. Understand the value of small groups for discipleship within the church.
4. Be able to develop a strategic plan for implementing a small group ministry.
5. Be able to develop a strategic plan for multiplying small groups.
6. Understand the value of small groups for church planting.
7. Grow in appreciation for the value of the local church.

Over the course of the semester, the following evaluation exercises will be used to determine the level of mastery of course content achieved by each class participant:

- Class attendance and participation 課堂出勤率和參與（12%）
Each student is expected to attend class faithfully. Attendance is considered vitally important. If a student must be absent, he or she must get class notes from another student. One absence will be excused. Two absences will reduce the final grade, and more than two will result in failing the course.

Read the required textbook. After reading the assigned textbook, write a reflection report of no more than 1000 words.

Each week before the scheduled online session, watch the assigned pre-recorded video and prepare for discussion.

- Small Group Assessment 小組評估 (20%)
Students will analyze different types of small group models, providing analysis on potential positive and negative aspects for their context and one other different context. Papers should be 1-2 pages.

- Small Group Strategic Plan 小組策略計劃 (20%)
Students will develop and discuss the purpose, structure, and implementation of a small group ministry at their church. Papers should be 1-2 pages.
